ODE-SECO Virtual MeetupUsing Mathematics and Computational Thinking Tuesday, January 21, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. Join the team from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). These experts will share ways to integrate data into your science classroom with their My NASA Data sets. Preparing students to analyze and interpret data is an important science and engineering practice featured in our Ohio Learning Standards for Science under the Nature of Science section. Providing opportunities for students to interact with data will prepare them to be critically-thoughtful, well-informed decision makers, not only in matters of science but in all areas of life. The webinar is FREE to teachers. More information about this session and resources from our other Virtual Meetups can be found on the ODE Science Resource Page. |
2021 HASTI & ICTM Virtual Joint Conference February 6 – 9, 2021 The Hoosier Association of Science Teachers, Inc. (HASTI) and the Indiana Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) are excited to come together to bring an enhanced science and mathematics conference for Indiana educators. Initial plans were for a traditional conference in Indianapolis. However, these plans are changed due to the public health issues we face. This joint conference is now VIRTUAL. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity. We expect 500 mathematics, science, and STEM teachers from across the state to participate in this special virtual event. |
Featured Teacher ResourceBringing NASA Lessons Into Your Classroom With Space From A Distance The Ohio STEM Learning Network proudly announces a new collaboration between science non-profit Battelle and NASA—Next Gen STEM: Space from a Distance. Join us for an informational webinar on 12/9/2020 to learn how to qualify for a free STEM crate with supplies for 30 students. Starting 2/1/2020, we will feature week-long standards-aligned design challenges designed for K-12 by NASA professionals. Each week will focus on a different piece of NASA’s mission – STEM on Station, Moon to Mars, Commercial Crew, and Aeronaut-X – providing accessible resources to you and your students in person or virtually. Each week, we’ll help you guide your students through the engineering design process, participate in hands-on-STEM activities, and learn about NASA careers from the professionals themselves. | Did you miss the SECO January Webinar on Using Mathematics & Computational Thinking.
