Join the Science Education Council of Ohio on Monday, Sept. 30, 2024 at 4:30 pm for our first webinar for the 2024-2025 academic year when we will present an innovative to engage your students in the Science and Engineering practices through the NASA Techrise Challenge.
Marisa Cleghorn will share with us details for how to get your classroom ready for the fourth annual NASA TechRise challenge. This challenge invites student teams in grades six through twelve to submit experiment ideas to fly on a high-altitude balloon flight. The challenge is open to all public, private, and charter schools. Teacher professional development opportunities, free educational resources to foster STEM in your classroom, and an exciting student virtual field trip this fall are available for this experience. At least one school from each state and jurisdiction of the U.S. will be selected to receive $1500 to build their experiment, a spot to test it on a NASA-sponsored flight, and technical support from NASA’s awesome TechRise advisors. The challenge is a great way to get hands-on with a NASA project this school year, and teams of all skill levels are encouraged to apply. For questions, contact Robin Deems.
