Climate Change 2.0:

Connecting Your Classroom to the Issues in Your Community

July 17, 19 & 24

Learn about and explore the issues in our community that are related to climate change. Holden Forests & Gardens and the Bay Village Schools Curriculum Department join forces again to present a three-day workshop on the science, local issues and classroom connections that can be made while covering the topics related to climate.

During the program:

  • Ohio Sea Grant will share their curriculum resources
  • Bay Village Schools will demonstrate how everything from weather stations to citizen science has been incorporated into the curriculum.
  • Discuss the Cleveland Tree Plan and visit locations that are taking a lead in planting trees and learn ways to involve your own school in similar activities.
  • Tour the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District's lab and Southerly Wastewater Treatment Center and visit the Watershed Stewardship Center to learn more about the water issues that we see in the news all the time
  • Learn how to incorporate these concepts into your classroom and see how it applies to the standards.
  • Take part in hands-on activities that bring the concepts to life in your classroom and leave with resources to help you weave it seamlessly into your curriculum.

Time:  9 am - 3 pm

Cost: $150 for all three days - You can register for individual sessions at $50 a day.
