Experiencing Technology in Ag

Come and experience hands-on training in agricultural systems using modern technology and connect with Ohio State University Extension specialists. Teachers will also be provided with ready-to-use agriculturally-relevant curriculum modules. Hotel and registration are covered by the PD-STEP program through the National Institute for Food and Agriculture. Ashland graduate credit is available. Topics include:

  • Introduction to Ohio Crop Production and Current Technology
  • Cover crops and planting practices
  • Weed management and herbicide technology
  • Remote sensing technology (drones)
  • Plant sensors
  • Data analysis
  • Extension Speakers including Field Agronomists, Statisticians, Pathologists, and Ag Engineering

Each teacher will receive ready-to-use modules and access to a crop sensor for use in the classroom. 15 hours of contact time will be awarded for the 2 day workshop. Workshop will be organized and facilitated in part by Education Projects and Partnerships, LLC.
